Covid Safety Policies

This pandemic has been difficult for all of us - especially with the lockdowns and lingering uncertainty. We are fully committed to providing exceptional service during the pandemic. These protocols enable us to continue to operate effectively while keeping our vendors and potential buyers safe.

New Zealand is now operating under the Orange settings of the traffic lights (COVID-19 Protection Framework) system to protect New Zealand, while allowing people with My Vaccine Pass more freedoms. However, those that are not vaccinated are not excluded from the real estate process. For your safety, services performed in person at all Covid-19 Protection Framework Traffic Light settings will observe the recommended Ministry of Health, WorkSafe, REA and REINZ  guidelines related to social distancing, hygiene and contact tracing.

Can we still sell our property?

Absolutely, it’s very easy to do under the Red Light system. Our Covid Safety policies ensure your safety, and everyone else too. Where possible all documentation will be handled digitally or contactless. When in person contact is required, PPE (incl masks) and social distancing will be mandatory. We’re positive these precautions will reduce risk, while still allowing us to effectively sell your home.

Are open homes/viewings happening?

Yes, absolutely. We have protocols and processes in place, and keeping everyone safe is our priority. These include:

  • All staff, vendors and tenants to meet the government's health requirements.

  • Maintain 2 metres physical distancing at all times

  • All viewings will be booked in advanced through our booking system. One household/bubble will be given access at a time. We ask that if you have young children, please avoid bringing them to the viewing if possible.

  • All attendance will be recorded/logged.

  • Compulsory mask wearing for all 12 years and older for the duration of time on the property. If a potential buyer does not have a mask, one will be provided.

  • Compulsory glove wearing - gloves will be provided. This is to protect buyers when viewing the full property, particularly when opening doors or cupboards. We will remind all viewers to avoid touching their face/body while viewing the property.

  • Vaccination status: If the vendor elects to allow only vaccinated (those with My Vaccine Pass) viewers onto the property, unfortunately we will respect their decision. If you are unvaccinated and wish to view a property that only allows vaccinated viewings, you may wish to view the online 3D walkthrough.

What can happen under the Red CPF Setting?

  • Halo Real Estate staff will continue to be available to assist clients, vendors and buyers, while working and contactable remotely

  • Property appraisals, viewings, and contract signings can all be conducted digitally, or in person (with PPE and social distancing) if required. If the following controls are applied:

    • All staff, vendors and tenants to meet the government's health requirements.

    • Maintain 2 metres physical distancing at all times

    • All viewings will be booked in advanced through our booking system. One household/bubble will be given access at a time

    • Compulsory mask wearing for all 12 years and older for the duration of time on the property.

    • Follow hygiene protocols.

    • With my My Vaccine Pass

      • If the property owner or real estate agent chooses to follow My Vaccine Pass requirements, only people with My Vaccine Pass will be allowed onto the property. Children under the age of 12 years and 3 months do not need to provide a My Vaccine Pass to enter places with a vaccination requirement.

      • If the property owner or real estate agent chooses not to follow My Vaccine Pass requirements, there can be up to 15 people based on 2-metre physical distancing in a single defined space at the property at any time. They can be a mix of people with and without My Vaccine Pass. The booking system process will still be in effect.

    • Pre-settlement inspections can take place.

    • The following third party services can also be undertaken, if necessary, and the owners/tenants must depart and agree to their entry:

      • Property valuations

      • Professional photography and videography

      • Home staging

      • Moving services.


What can happen under the Orange CPF Setting?

  • Open Homes/ Viewings can take place. Our vendors and landlords, after consultation with our salespeople, can choose if they want to run an open home/viewings with or without the requirement of vaccine passes (the CVC system). Different limits apply under each option.

  • Pre-settlement inspections and valuations can take place. Everyone aged 12 and over must wear a mask for the duration of any viewing.

The following third party services can also be undertaken, if necessary, and the owners/tenants must depart and agree to their entry:

  • Professional photography and videography

  • Home staging and landscapers

  • Moving services within the Auckland region.
